Downham Market summer school in 2003




In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature, Chris Hornby looks back to 2003...

These children went back through the school gates during the summer break in 2003 to a new holiday play scheme set up in Downham.

A classroom at Downham High School was open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, for a wide variety of arts, crafts, sports and games.

In our Lynn News picture, play scheme organisers Julia Covell and Sarah Drake arrange a craft session for (from left) Christopher Lloyd, Andrew Lloyd, George Biss and Harriet Biss.

The venture was backed by National Opportunities funding with three fully qualified supervisors available to arrange the daily programme.
