June 2011: Launching a new appeal to raise £100,000 for young carers in West Norfolk, the Lynn News featured younger members of West Norfolk Young Carers’ Group, joined by sessional workers Rebecca Daisey and Emma Kandjou (back centre) and group leader Jackie Haverson at the front.

June 2011: Former Norwich City footballer Craig Fleming scored for charity when he completed a 47-mile walk around the North Norfolk coast in just 24 hours. Lining up for the start of the Sporting Light challenge at Hunstanton are, from left: Andy Fisher and Chris Patten from social network site ipatter, Emma Fletcher from the Community Sports Foundation, Craig Fleming, Jackie Thornton (sports foundation) and Mark Curtis from chartered accountants Larking Gowan.

June 2012: Cub Scouts from the Lynn area were in Lynn town centre shoe-shining in aid of the Red Wellies brain tumour support fund. PCSO Alan Atkin and Derek Popplewell get special treatment from Tate Giller, Keenan Langley, Oscar Williams, Alex Stapleton and Cub Leader Jeanette Stapleton.

June 2012: Simon Davies, manager of the House on the Green pub at North Wootton, presents a £150 cheque to Mary Dunn of the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Pub footballers staged a charity match which was followed by a buffet and karaoke.

June 2012: When a “perfect place” area at Tilney All Saints Primary School fell into disrepair because of lack of funds, a Lottery grant of £4,783 came to the rescue – and members of the school conservation club were pleased with the transformation.

June 2015: Dozens of community groups and charities took part in a volunteers’ fair held at the Duke’s Head Hotel, Lynn, including this team from Citizen’s Advice (from left) Marie Profitt, Farah Raza, Nikki Holley-Smith, David Knights, Christine Henderson and Jo Halpin Jones.

June 2015: Wet weather failed to deter more than 400 cyclists who took part in the Cycle Together event at Sandringham, raising money for the Leonard Cheshire Disability charity.

June 2015: More than 40 vehicles attended the West Norfolk Morris Minor Club’s annual owners club rally at Sandringham, including Philip Horn. The event raised £244 for the Air Ambulance.

June 2015: Lynn fundraiser Bridget Wells (right) is pictured presenting a £5,000 cheque to Maria Howard, of The Independence Matters Crossroads Community Hub in South Wootton. Bridget had completed a 30-mile cycling challenge, also raising money for the William Day Centre in Tilney St Lawrence.

June 2011: Posters and leaflets designed by students at Lynn’s College of West Anglia, working with Lynn and District Osteoporosis Society, helped raise awareness for young people to guard against the fragile bone disease.
