May 2002: Delighted Dersingham Linnets celebrate after winning the Under 8 trophy at the Nar Valley Youth League finals day held at Wisbech. Dersingham beat West Winch 2-0 in the semi-final and then overcame Downham Black 2-1 in the final.
May 2009: King’s Lynn Community Football Early Learners got their first taste of playing at The Walks stadium when a special session was arranged at the home of the Linnets. Dan Buhlemann (centre) and his fellow coaches were teaching the children the basics of dribbling,passing and shooting, while incorporating it into fun and enjoyable activities.
May 2006: Terrington St John Primary School’s team of pupils, parents and teachers were among almost 2,000 runners raising money for cancer research at the Race for Life event held at Houghton Hall.
May 2001: The Tom Linford memorial cricket match between Denver and Barroway Drove was marked by the presentation of Denver Centenary shirts by Mike Howland of Keystone Estate Agents (front right) to club captain Mike Hastings. They were joined by players from both teams.
May 2001: Lift-off for the West Anglia Soccer Development Programme, which saw a link-up between Lynn’s College of West Anglia, King Edward VII High School, the Linnets, Norfolk FA and Norwich City. At the front are Linnets director of football Kevin Boon and Mark Reavall, COWA head of faculty responsible for sport, joined by representatives from KES, Norfolk FA and Norwich City.
May 2001: Terrington King William completed a Lynn Sunday League treble when beating Fosters Reserves 2-1 in the final of the Division Two Cup. King William had already won the league title and also picked up the TGWU Cup.
May 2004: Linnets players and supporters celebrate after Lynn’s 2-0 win away to Fisher Athletic which saw the club claim the Dr Martens Eastern Division title. Dale Watkins and Chris Bacon scored the second half goals which sparked off scenes of jubilation from the 600 army of Lynn supporters.
May 2014: With the imposing Houghton Hall in the background, Panda Christie on Iceberg tackles the cross-country course at the rain-hit international horse trials.
May 2014: Olympics 10,000 metres finalist Paul Evans puts Downham Academy youngsters through their paces ahead of the Downham Games to be held at the Memorial Field in the town.
