All the pupils at Ingoldisthorpe Primary School were taught how to ring hand bells during class time in September 2010.

The lessons were led by visiting teacher Christine Dean who said: “The bells are 80 years old. They had been lost for many years before being discovered in a cupboard at Snettisham church in 1998.

I did not want to see them lying unused when children could benefit from playing them.”

Under her guidance a team of bell ringers played at local events including a Christmas concert at Hunstanton Town Hall and also gave performances at Manor Farm care home.

One pupil admitted: “It’s good fun, but sometimes it’s really hard to keep in tune when it’s your turn to ring the bell.”
