Brancaster Staithe, Holkham, Congham, Terrington St Clement, Heacham, Hunstanton, Watlington and King's Lynn eateries involved in Norfolk Restaurant Week
Norfolk Restaurant Week, sponsored by Big Skies Estates in Holt, is back after a two year break, giving foodies a chance to try out new places and revisit old favourites as more than 50 restaurants have so far signed up.
Founder Martin Billing, a North Norfolk based entrepreneur, explains that the week, which runs from October 31 to November 11, sees restaurants offer great value set priced meals in a traditionally quieter time of the culinary calendar.
“We are building the week back up after a two year break – and it is really due to customer demand, from both the restaurants and from diners who are locals and holiday-makers.
“It is something people really look forward to and we know they book holidays around the week, too. It’s a chance for people to get together, and enjoy each other’s company and some great food.”
The restaurants taking part offer either two courses for £16 and three courses for £20, or two courses for £23 and three courses for £29. Evening meals are always included and lunches are optional. Weekends are fully excluded.
A wide cross section of restaurants from all around the county have already signed up, including The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe, The Victoria at Holkham, and as far afield as Holt and Norwich. New places joining for the first time this year include The White Swan at Gressenhall, near Dereham, and The Wildflower at Terrington St Clement, The Angel at Watlington and Seafood by Adrian Noble in Lynn. It is expected that more will follow.
Ruth Dickinson of Congham Hall Hotel is delighted to take part, saying: “Norfolk Restaurant Week is a time to showcase our food and our restaurant. It is not so much about cheaper prices as our lunch menu is the same price but it reminds people that we are here and open to non residents.
“We love taking part, it is a great event and is always well attended and well received.”
Family owned and award winning The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors in Brancaster Staithe and The Kings Head in Letheringsett have been fervent supporters of Norfolk Restaurant Week since its inception. Their spokesperson Pam Farrell says: “We are proud to offer local delicious menus created by talented chefs and welcome guests ‘old’ and new to taste the best of Norfolk produce.”
And Hetti Simpson of Big Skies Estates adds: “We are delighted to be the headline sponsors of the return of Norfolk Restaurant Week in 2022.
“Restaurant Week is one of the most exciting events in the Norfolk calendar and the whole team at Big Skies will be using it as a fantastic excuse to eat out at some of our favourite North Norfolk eateries and to discover new ones in Norwich and elsewhere in our beautiful county.”
Diners are advised to book ahead to avoid disappointment once menus are released later this month.
