Youngsters from King’s Lynn’s Fairstead Playgroup enjoy tasty Easter treats in 1990

Our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature focuses on Easter fun had by playgroup tots…

These Fairstead Playgroup youngsters, in Lynn, were feathering their nests in April 1990.

The tasty Easter treat was organised for each child by stand-in supervisor Mrs Liz Mannion and was a chocolate bird’s nest containing imitation eggs.

Mrs Mannion was bridging the gap after Mrs Pat Backhouse had left and before the arrival of new supervisor Mrs Sharon Smith.

The group’s building fund committee had been busy applying for planning permission for a new home next to the local primary school, and hoped to move in within a year.
