King's Lynn Pelicans Hockey Club celebrate centenary after Covid postponement in Adrian Flux Insurance company marquee

More news, no ads

After two years of postponement, members and friends of Pelicans Hockey Club finally got to celebrate the centenary (plus two more years) of the West-Norfolk based club.

Saying something is worth the wait can be a much over-cooked cliche but on this occasion, it was true. As the two-hundred plus guests filed into the sumptuous marquee on the grounds of Adrian Flux Insurance company, there was a sense of eager anticipation in the air.

It wasn’t so much the prospect of a night of eating, drinking and dancing to the Reavey Brothers. It wasn’t even the fact that we were celebrating a club and its history that has been a major part of the lives of many of those present. It was actually the sheer joy of being out and about and reuniting with people, many of whom we hadn’t seen for years.
