The best in the West
Time seems to have stood still for a year. Normally West Norfolk CAMRA would announce their Pub of the Year in February leaving time for it to compete against other winners from Norfolk and then the rest of East Anglia, but lockdown put an end to that.
Last year’s winner was the King’s Arms at Shouldham and it was all we could do to ensure that they received their certificate without the usual fanfare. We did consider suspending the competition for a year, but with the reopening in June decided to press on.
It turned out to be a good decision with five pubs being nominated for the award, all of the highest quality. Three were former winners, while one made its debut in the competition.
