Reception class youngsters at North Wootton Primary School brought “Christmas Joy” to parents and playgroup pals with their Nativity production in December 1995.

About 50 pupils aged four and five took part in the play, produced by their class teachers Mrs Julie Reid and Mrs Carolyn Saddleton.

They gave two performances for parents, and also invited youngsters from North Wootton Playgroup and the village’s Lodge Cottage Nursery School to the dress rehearsals.

Older children at the school also put on seasonal productions: Years One and Two performed a version of The Nutcracker, while lower and upper juniors staged musicals based on the stories of Cinderella and the Nativity.
