£22k to join Liz Truss for karaoke
Adele may be minting mega-millions with her new album but South West Norfolk MP Liz Truss must surely be rivalling her for how much her singing voice is worth if reports in today's national press are to be believed.
It is reported that at last night's Winter Party fundraiser for the Conservatives, more than £100,000 was fundraised for party coffers.
Among the large amounts pledged in an auction was £22,000 for the chance to join Ms Truss in a karaoke evening.
Earlier in the year the Foreign Secretary was spotted at a fringe event at Conservative Party Conference in Manchester belting out (I've Had) The Time Of My Life on a karaoke.
Ms Truss was not the only one attracting large bids in the auction at the event formerly called the Black and White Ball. A chance to play cricket with Chancellor Rishi Sunak attracted a bid of £35,000 and dinner with Levelling-up Secretary Michael Gove went for £25,000.
MailOnline reported that £30,000 was paid for a Get Brexit Done sign used by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the 2019 election campaign.
Tickets to the annual event cost more than £1,000 each.
As to what the MP will be singing.
