A drunk man who was trying to fight with members of the public on a night out “was not making much sense” according to police.

Joseph Ingram, 23, of Myles Way in Wisbech, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he admitted to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Prosecutor Paul Brown said that the incident took place on March 10, when Ingram was on a night out in Lynn and was trying to fight members of the public on Norfolk Street.

Officers spotted him and thought that he was drunk, they also heard Ingram using bad language. He had to be removed from the area by officers.

“He wasn’t making much sense because he was so drunk,” said Mr Brown.

He appeared unrepresented in court and said: “I don’t really need to say a lot thank you.”

Magistrates fined Ingram £40 and he was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £16 and court costs of £105.
