A developer has been given the green light for 36 homes in Stoke Ferry.
West Norfolk Council’s planning committee approved plans to build on land south of Lark Road at a meeting in Lynn this morning.
Agent Gordon Smith told the meeting that the new development would contribute to the social life of the village.
Mr Smith, whose clients have not been named, said there would no adverse impact on local residents.
Committee member Andrew Morrison said the village school would be altering its site to create additional classrooms.
He said: “That is going to cost and I wonder if there is anyway some contribution will be made to the reorganisation of the school. They make a great play of the environment and social integration.”
Concerns were also raised about the close proximity of the site to sewage works and the amount of traffic leading to the site.
