Another driver was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Jody Bannister, of Birchfield Road in Nordelph, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, as well as causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He denies both offences.

Bannister did admit the lesser charges of causing death and injury by careless driving, but the Crown Prosecution Service deemed this to be unacceptable.

He will therefore face a trial at Norwich Crown Court on June 8, 2026.

Bannister himself was taken to hospital following the incident in 2023.

Norfolk Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit launched an investigation after the crash.
