West Norfolk Seasonal Food and Drink Festival returning to Hunstanton this month
Food lovers can expect another treat this month when the second rendition of a town festival springs into life.
Organisers of the West Norfolk Seasonal Food and Drink Festival are “super excited” to be bringing the event to Hunstanton once again.
The first festival took place in March, spearheaded by staff at The Norfolk Deli, with visitors enjoying the day despite rainy weather.
This time around on June 16, with sunnier conditions expected, there will be even more options on offer for those in attendance.
Mark Kacary, the managing director of The Norfolk Deli, said: “We have taken on board the feedback we received following the first event. We are delighted to say that most traders who were with us in March will be back this time too.”
With Norwich Wine Week taking place at the same time as the Hunstanton festival, some of the businesses which attended the first festival will be unable to make it.
However, in their place, the likes of Duration Brewery, The Mushroomery, Norfolk Pie Company, Norwich-based M&M Sweet Treats, and Heather’s Kettlecorn will be in attendance.
Mr Kacary is also introducing a small street food area where traders will be offering burritos, paella, Chinese food and ice cream.
He added: “The event is developing its identity to demonstrate some of its key differences, because on the face of it one could be made to think that this is like any other farmer’s market, but visitors coming to Hunstanton will realise that it’s much more than that - it’s a whole day out.”
Independent business such as The Norfolk Deli, The Terrace, Cafe Legge, Georgies Café, Becca’s Kitchen and the Copper Kettle will all be open early to serve visitors before the festival officially starts at 10am.
Meanwhile, on the day, David Halliday - owner of the Moongazer Brewery - will be joining Adrian Eden at the By the Book bookshop to read from and sign the first in what will be a series of books under the title of ‘Moongazer Tales’ featuring a hare named Jigfoot.
Customer will be able to buy a book, have it signed and even obtain a bottle of Jigfoot beer.
Over the weekend, Hunstanton’s town hall will be hosting ‘Bees by the Sea’, an event where people can learn about bees and witness live honey bees in a observation hive.
Mr Kacary added: “The West Norfolk Seasonal Food and Drink Festival is more than just a food event; it’s a comprehensive experience for families, food lovers, and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the charms of Hunstanton.
“It’s a celebration of local flavours, community spirit, and the simple joys of exploration and discovery.”
