A fine pine day at Dersingham Christmas tree festival
Parishioners of St Nicholas Church in Manor Road, Dersingham, are being invited to take a wander around the tree festival.
There was anything but a frosty reception from the two snow people at the entrance to a church full of decorated trees.
Local groups add their own style to each tree representing what they do and showing off their creative talents.
These include the Rainbows, Knitter Knatter and the Women's Institute.
Stalls selling pre loved items and a tombola are also on offer to help the church raise much needed funds.
Lynn Wheeler who helps organise the home made cakes said yesterday: "It is going well, we had a really good morning."
Refreshments including cakes and tea and coffee are served by the volunteers.
Church warden Thomas Wheeler said: "The catering team work really hard."
Preparations throughout December are now in place and visitors can also see the trees by candelight on December 11.
Rose Howard who runs the tombola said: "It is going very well and is a lot of fun.
"The funds are towards remodelling the kitchen and putting in the disabled toilet.
"All the funds are to help improve the church."
Carolynn Bithray runs the jewellery stall and said: "The items are donated by members and collected across a couple of years.
"People give us all their treasures that are pre-loved.
"The funds go toward the general upkeep of the church."
There will be a chance to meet Father Christmas on December 18 and on Christmas Eve a crib service, midnight communion followed on Christmas Day by a family celebration at 10am.
