A-Level Results Day 2019: Fakenham Academy
A third successive year of improved A-Level results meant there was plenty to smile about at Fakenham Academy’s sixth form today.
Seventy-three per cent of students achieved A* to C grades, up one point on last year and there was a 100 per cent overall pass rate.
Headteacher Richard Allen Evans said: “The school and students have done fantastically well this year.
“We also had an increased on A* to B grades. That’s a third year of improving results.
“This is the first set of students to go through entirely in our new building.”
He added: "We are also proud of the commitment and dedication our students have shown in their extra-curricular endeavours, through international study trips, raising money for local and national charities, and supporting students in Fakenham Academy.
"We wish them all the best in their future studies and careers."
He said that university remained a popular option for many of those taking the exams, with more winning places at top institutions than ever before.
But he was concerned that 43 per cent of them had been given unconditional offers for degree courses.
“It is becoming a real issue,” he said.
