The head of Methwold’s Iceni Academy has praised her students and staff following a slight improvement in A level results.

Only nine students sat the exams this year, with 48 per cent of entries achieving A* to C grades, up one per cent on last year.

The total of A* to E grades also increased by one per cent, to 94 per cent.

Principal Gee Cook said: “We are very pleased with our results. Our students have studied a robust program of only academic A Levels and have worked very hard to achieve their success.

“It is a credit to the dedication of our students, and our staff, that results have generally remained stable. We hope all of our students go on to achieve further success in the next stage of their lives.”

She added: “Our Year 12 cohort are also progressing well and should they continue to work hard they will be rewarded with their own success next year. Congratulations to all of our students.”
