Picture This: Remembrance service at King’s Lynn Minster around 100 years ago

In this week’s Picture This, Lynn Museum shows a picture taken from a remembrance service at a Lynn church in the late 1920s…

This black and white photograph, from the late 1920s, captures a poignant moment during the Silence at the Remembrance Day service at St Margaret’s Church (now King’s Lynn Minster).

The church pews are packed with a formally attired congregation, reminding us of the solemnity of this event, with the Great War still in living memory for most.

The soaring arches frame the picture, with the choristers dressed in white and the altar in the distance.
