A slice of Brooklyn for King's Lynn as husband and wife venture ‘The Pizza Slice Guy’ lands in town
New York trained pizza company ‘The Pizza Slice Guy’ has travelled the USA and arrived in Lynn to serve doughy delights during the pandemic.
Takeaway food has been a staple during the lockdown- alongside Netflix and this mobile service promises a top experience.
Lynn husband and wife team Danny Child,29 and Lucy Child,28 have a ‘passion for awesome pizzas’.
After a visit to the states in 2019 they went on mission to discover the secrets of that unique US pizza flavour, attended the Pizza School NYC and came back to share it with the townsfolk.
In March 2020 shortly after the birth of their first child Phoenix, the pair revamped a ‘hideous’ old white van into the pizza-mobile of their dreams.
The pair have said: “We poured our hearts and souls, blood, sweat and tears into turning the truck into the pizza van you recognise today! We paired with Duchy Charcuterie to find that special ‘cupped’ pepperoni to create the perfect pizza and now we’ve never been so busy! We are a family business and at the back of the truck you will see my brother in law Patrick, the oven handler and the Pizza Slice wife Lucy cuddling Phoenix. It’s been a whirlwind adventure for us with becoming first time parents and living our dream!”
The menu boasts mouth watering options such as ‘The Boss of New Jersey’, ‘A Taste of Astoria’ and ‘It Happened in the Bronx’ all of which burst with classic New York Flavours. ‘Rain is a good thing’ even comes with a ‘hint of Jack Daniels’ for those missing their Friday night at Spoons.
Vegetarian options are available and food intolerances catered for.
The opening times and locations of the Van will be updated and change weekly. To follow this please go to their Facebook page here.
