A47 closed at Walton Highway after lorry overturns

The A47 is closed this morning after a lorry overturned at Walton Highway.

Emergency services were called to the incident, which happened near to the B198 and the Shell garage, at about 6.30am.

Officers are advising motorists to avoid the area and to use the local diversions that are in place.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said the incident was damage only and it is not believed that anyone was injured.

She said a recovery operation will be undertaken to remove the lorry from the road.

"Highways are on scene as there has been a fuel spillage," she added.
