A47 at Necton closed due to crash and oil spillage, says National Highways





The A47 is currently closed at Necton following a crash.

National Highways, which is responsible for the stretch of the main road, has confirmed that it is closed in both directions between Swaffham and Dereham.

This follows a crash between a car and a van which also resulted in an oil spillage.

The road will remain closed while recovery and clear up works are on-going. Drivers are currently experiencing delays of at least 20 minutes in the area.

Police were called to the collision at 7.20am this morning.

Those involved are believed to have suffered minor injuries, but the air ambulance was called to the scene.

Fire crews from Dereham and Swaffham attended the incident too, making the scene safe and releasing vehicle occupants using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Their stop message was received at 8.22am.
