A47 eastbound closed at Swaffham and two people taken to King’s Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital after crash
A road remains closed and two people have been taken to hospital after a crash involving two vehicles this morning.
Police were called to the A47 at Swaffham at 10.51am today following reports of the collision between a car and a van.
Emergency services are currently on the scene, including two paramedics, an ambulance officer vehicle, and firefighters.
Five patients were assessed at the scene, with two taken to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.
The other three patients suffered minor injuries and were discharged at the scene.
The road is currently closed in the eastbound direction.
National Highways has put a diversion route in place:
- Exit the A47 at Lynn’s Hardwick roundabout
- Take the fourth exit onto the A10 southbound
- At Downham roundabout take the first exit onto the A1122
- At Stradsett turn right onto the A134, signposted for Thetford
- At Mundford roundabout take the first exit onto the A1065 northbound
- Re-join the A47 at Swaffham interchange
