Breaking news: King's Lynn am-dram production axed due to Covid outbreak




The amateur dramatics production of The Railway Children that was due to be performed at the Guildhall of St George from Tuesday for four nights has been called off after one of the cast tested positive for coronavirus.

The news was announced today by the King's Lynn Players. The production will not now take place.

The statement from KLP said: "The wellbeing of our cast, crew and audiences has always been our main priority and today sadly one of the cast of The Railway Children has tested positive for coronavirus.

"We have had to take the difficult decision to cancel our production of The Railway Children which has already been rescheduled several times due to the pandemic.

"The theatre will contact with all ticket holders in due course."

The Railway Children, a retelling of the much-loved EE Nesbit book, was due to be the KLP production for 2020 and had to be postponed twice then.

Some 700 tickets had been sold for the show across Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
