Apprentices at CGM Group based at Downham Market both gain full-time positions with the landscaping firm
Two apprentices are embarking on the next stage of their careers having gained full-time positions at CGM Group, which is based at Downham.
Josh Clark and Liam Jarred both completed their apprenticeships at the commercial landscaping company and were offered positions which they accepted.
Josh learned a variety of skills that he thinks will benefit him in the long term. Previously he had different roles, including being a security guard, but he enjoys grounds maintenance much more. He is now working as part of a grounds maintenance team that looks after schools.
Liam had been studying computer science but realised he found it repetitive and wanted to try something different. As an apprentice at CGM Group he appreciated being able to work outside and getting a sense of achievement when a job was completed. He now provides ground maintenance services at housing association sites and domestic gardens.
Tim Glover, MD at CGM Group said: “We’re pleased that Josh and Liam have accepted full time positions after completing their apprenticeships. They have both worked hard, been enthusiastic and shown commitment to the company, so they deserve this opportunity. I’m a strong supporter of apprenticeships and of giving people a chance to learn new skills that will help them in the future.”
Each year CGM Group offers 15 to 20 apprenticeships in a variety of roles, and earlier this year won the national Pro Landscaper Apprenticeship Scheme Award. Find details of the company’s apprenticeship opportunities at: www.countrygroundsmaintenance.co.uk/apprenticeships/
