Young people and employers will be able to find out more about a new apprenticeship scheme during an information evening.

Norfolk County Council’s Adult Education Team and Swarm Apprentices are launching a programme which will create 36 apprenticeships in the county.

Starting in July, the new apprenticeship programme will run for 14 months and provide youngsters aged between 16 and 23 with real work place experience and the opportunity to achieve a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Enterprise Skills in a Business Environment with Norfolk Adult Education.

An information evening will be held in Lynn’s Providence Street Community Centre on Friday, May 2, between 4pm and 6pm.

The education service will deliver the training and Swarm will be working with businesses to identify a specific project for the apprentices to work on.

The county council’s cabinet member for communities Margaret Wilkinson said: “I appeal to any young person who may be unsure about their next step to come along to one of these events, and find out more information.”
