Arson attack at King's Lynn play area

Firefighters were called to an arson attack at a Lynn play area yesterday evening (Thursday, July 30).

One crew from South Lynn was called to the fire on Orchard Crescent at 9.42pm.

The firefighters then left the scene at 9.52pm.

Video footage has shown flames on the play equipment with smoke billowing in the air.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said she could see no record of a reported arson attack in the area last night.

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire service didn’t make a report to the police on this incident. It’s possible a resident may have separately made a report to the police in this case, but the fire service don’t have that on record. Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire."
