A teenage artist is planning to leave his mark on his home town before going to university this autumn.

A community art project will be taking place at Swaffham’s skatepark to give the facility at the Recreation Ground a new look.

The project is the idea of 19-year-old artist James Wade, who is preparing to move away to university next month.

He said he wanted to contribute to the town before he leaves and town schools have already provided hand stencils of pupils which will be part of the final design.

James said: “I wanted to involve the community and make people realise that big and beautiful things can happen when we work together.”

The work will take place at the Haspalls Road site on Sunday and Monday, August 15 and 16. The skatepark will be closed to the public while the work is completed.

Anyone who would like to have their hand stencil included in the project is asked to email pangaea.proxima.uk@gmail.com or contact @pangaea__proxima on Instagram.
