Two community groups have been given grants totalling £1,000 to help boost the arts in Swaffham.

The Iceni Partnership has been given £500 for frames to be loaned to artists who otherwise could not afford to frame works to exhibit in its gallery.

A further £500 grant will support the work of Wissey Valley Arts to hold music and dance workshops this autumn, which will culminate with a performance in Swaffham.

The grants were awarded through Breckland Council’s Access Arts programme.

Lynda Turner, the authority’s executive member for place, said: “We are fortunate that there are so many groups and individuals who are working to provide opportunities within their communities and I am pleased that we are able to support them.”
