Attempted break-in in Downham Market

Police are appealing for information following an attempted burglary at a takeaway in Downham.

It happened on Thursday at 6.30am in the High Street when a man smashed a glass panel in the door.

The suspect then fled the scene after being spooked by passing cars and pedestrians and ran off along Paradise Road before going down an alleyway.

He’s described as white, of slim build and was wearing baggy clothing and a blue wig.

Officers want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area around the time, witnessed a man matching the description or motorists that may have relevant dash-cam footage.
