The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe stages Scolt Head Supper evenings




Diners at The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe will be able to learn more about the delicacies they are eating in a series of suppers accompanied by guest speakers who source the food locally.

On Tuesday, January 21, the award-winning coastal inn will be serving a feast of local game supplied for the meal by William Chapman, who organises local farm shoots.

During the evening he will be chatting to diners and relating anecdotes about his role while head of drink for Anglian Country Inns, which owns The White Horse, Daniel Eriksen will talk about the wine matchings specially selected to accompany the courses.

These are being created by head chef at the inn, Fran Hartshorne and will include rabbit tea, partridge schnitzel with fried quail egg, roast duck breast and herb crusted venison accompanied by a selection of vegetables. A dessert will round off the meal followed by coffee.

The suppers are inspired and named by the panoramic view across the tidal marsh seen from the conservatory restaurant at The White Horse to Scolt Head Island and are designed to encapsulate the best of local produce in a friendly and informal dining experience.

The game supper, which starts at 7pm, costs £35 and with wines to match, £55. Bookings can be made by contacting The White Horse on 01485 210262.
