Norfolk flourish awards nominations open this year hoping to hear more stories about those who have helped young people
An awards ceremony has returned and wants to hear about people’s “outstanding” contributions to help children and young people in Norfolk flourish.
The Flourish Awards have returned for another year and are building on their success of the 300 nominees in 2023 and 2024.
The awards, hosted by the Children and Young People's Strategic Alliance, means that any project, team or organisation can be nominated by members of the public or a professional, with the winners being decided by a panel of children and young people (CYP), made up of members of Norfolk’s young participation groups, and parents.
You can make a nomination online from May 30.
There are eight Flourish Awards up for grabs, each based on an area of young people’s lives which are important to them.
The eight nomination categories are: family and friends award, learning award, opportunity award, understood award, resilience award, individuality award, safe and secure aware and healthy award.
Sara Tough OBE, executive director of children’s services at Norfolk County Council and chair of the Children and Young People Strategic Alliance, said: “Hosted by the Children and Young People Strategic Alliance, which I have the pleasure to chair, the awards are getting bigger and better each year.
“This is people’s chance to get involved and recognise those who make a real, positive difference in the lives of children and young people in Norfolk.”
Cllr Penny Carpenter, cabinet member for Children Services, said: “There are so many amazing individuals and groups across the county who deserve recognition for their work with children and young people in Norfolk.
“Anyone can nominate a project, school, charity, business, team or individual; the only criteria are that they work with children and young people, they’re based in Norfolk and have done something incredible.”
