Baden Powell moves to temporary home during King's Lynn pontoon work
The rebuilt Lynn fishing boat, the Baden Powell, has moved to a new temporary home.
With work taking place to extend the moorings available to holidaymakers on Lynn’s South Quay, has relocated to Wells-next-the-Sea, from where she is still offering leisure sailings subject to tides and weather conditions.
Project leader Tim Clayton said: “ Now that the Albatros, the town’s long-time resident historic ship, is away undergoing maintenance, Baden Powell is delighted to offer Wells visitors the opportunity to go to sea in another historic vessel with strong King’s Lynn heritage.
“Wells Harbourmaster Robert Smith has been a good friend to the Baden Powell, and we’re delighted to be able to play a role on Wells Quay this summer, and enable more people to appreciate the town’s maritime heritage.”
Work on the Lynn pontoons, which began last week, is expected to take around eight weeks to complete.
