A bank holiday double bill of Stock Car and Banger Racing action is in store at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena this weekend, with meetings tomorrow evening (6pm) and Bank Holiday Monday afternoon (1pm).
Tomorrow offers the the two hardest-hitting formulas in the country, BriSCA Formula One Stock Cars and Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars, ably backed up by Ministox.
On Monday, the emphasis is firmly on fun, with action headlined by the ever-popular Big Van Bangers Vandemonium. Completing the bill are Two-Litre (non-Mondeo) Bangers, Junior Bangers and 1300cc Stock Cars.
The mighty V8-powered F1 Stock Cars will feature an all-star cast including Staffordshire-based World Champion Craig Finnikin, Yorkshire’s famous Wainman brothers, Frankie and Danny, and Norfolk’s own Mat Newson.
Lynn’s Lee and Jamie Sampson, plus Heacham’s Willie Skoyles Jr will compete in 2-L Saloon Stock Cars, along with Norfolk-based World and English Champions, David Aldous and Martyn Parker.
Lynn driver Wes Freestone hopes to be racing in two formulas on Monday afternoon, providing he overcomes the mechanical difficulties that blighted his performance in his 1300cc Stock Car last weekend. Competing in Big Van Bangers should provide some relief for the 21-year-old engineer.
Freestone said: “I haven’t ever had a van so that’s something that I want to try – have a bit of a crash in the vans and then try and have a win in the stock car.”
Freestone’s younger brother Austen scored the better results of the pair last weekend, taking a race win and securing third place in the 1300 Stock Cars’ annual White & Yellow Grade Series Final.
In the Bangers, Darren Fendley fared best of the Lynn locals, with three top-four finishes in the Two-Litre Bangers, including fourth in the Michael Bailey Memorial final.
