Hunstanton Barclays to close in April leaving town with just one bank
A bank will be closing in a West Norfolk town later in the year, which will leave just one in the town.
Barclays on High Street, Hunstanton, will be closing its doors for the final time on Wednesday, April 12, it has been announced today.
After that, it will mean there is just one bank, Nationwide, left in the seaside town.
Barclays has said that the closure is down to the majority of its customers using their app, banking online or via telephone.
Just 21 customers use the branch regularly as the only way to do their banking, it added.
A statement from Barlcays says: "We’ll be working with the local community to understand the impact of closing this branch.
"We want to reassure you that we’re here to help. We’ll stay in your community and you’ll be able to talk to us in person.
"We’re finalising the details of where we’ll be based, and when, to support you with your banking, and we‘ll share the details locally once confirmed."
Two Barclays branches remain in the area, in Lynn and Fakenham.
