West Norfolk Lawn Tennis club held its annual Stanton Bass club competition on their grass courts at North Runcton.

The event has been held annually at the club for over 40 years. The handicap system meant that there were some exciting and close matches. The pairs played eight games against each other and there were several 4-4 draws.

The clear winners were Rhian Pilkington and Sam Croxford (pictured), having won three matches and a total of 20 games. The following placings were extremely close, with only one game dividing second and third place. Runners-up Ben Charnley and Lee Pilkington won 17 games, just edging out Sue Pratt and Kate Duncan with 16.

Fourth and fifth places were also decided by a solitary game, with Rosemary Engelmann and Mike Hadfield just ahead of Claire Duncan and Lauren Williams with 14 and 13 games won respectively. Thanks went to Ian Clayton who provided a barbecue.
