It’s the fourth round of the Twisted Melon Battle Of the Bands tonight – and it’s bang back into Lynn town centre with a high octane line-up at Norfolk Street’s Dr Thirsty’s.

And according to Triston Finnis the four bands on the bill –The Thinking Men, Disabled Angel, Dead Horse and Old Versus New – guarantee it will be the most original and competitive heat yet.

Triston said: “There are already a few whispers about which headline acts might be performing at this year’s 30th anniversary Festival Too!

“But which band will be taking the next step towards joining them as they play to 12,000 people on the Tuesday Market Place?

“Five acts, Fazed, Falling From Trees, Jay Harrison, Finding Ana and The B-Sides are already through to the on air KL.FM 96.7 semi-final looking for your vote to make it through to the grand final.

“As usual the event is free entry but unfortunately licensing regs on Norfolk Street this heat is over 18s only.”

Here’s the line-up for tonight’s fourth round, which starts at 7.30pm:

The Thinking Men

Imagine The Doors jamming with Nick Cave while Tom Waits takes the mic - you’re getting close to the sound of five-piece alternative rock band The Thinking Men. Described as “gritty and seductive bluesy rock”, their live performance reverberates with infectious, foot stomping anthems that will have you hooked.

The Thinking Men have created a unique sound - something that harks back to 50’srock and blues but with a contemporary and modern feel.

With a nod and a wink to yesteryear their music is built upon the hooks and melodies which make songs special and memorable.

Dead Horse

Dead Horse are a UK covers band based in King’s Lynn, but thats where the similarities to any other Lynn cover band stops. The strangest, in a good way, and energetic front man on the local scene. Playing classic rock, punk and metal tunes in their unique style. Their hard, heavy ‘n’ loud rock got them all the way through to the area finals of the MMG National Battle Of The Bands competition. Expect everyone in the room to be hot and sweaty by the end of the set.

Disabled Angel

Disabled Angel are a three-piece original alternative/electro/rock act from Holbeach.

Making their name as a credible act performing the likes of VistaFest and The Willow Festival as well as supporting the likes of The First.

They are mates: Jimi Goldswain on vocals, guitar and programming, Ash Harding on bass and vocals and Ashley ‘Tommo’ Thompson on drums.

Think hard and heavy rock mixed with clever samples and distinctive vocals.

Old Versus New

Original Norfolk rock act Old Versus New describe themselves as a punk, pop and kickass act, bringing you Old Skool ideas with a new style twist.

They take their influences from the likes of Green Day, Blink 182, ADTR and Alkaline Trio. The line-up is: Gary Bird, guitar and vocals; Ollie Daynes, bass and vocals; Chris Neal, drums; and Neil Bailey, guitar and backing vocals.

Get ready for a ‘live n loud’ pop, punk sound guaranteed to get the crowd going.
