West Norfolk’s stunning coastline is the latest tool in the drive to recruit nurses to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Pictures of the tide coming in at Brancaster will feature in a new advertising campaign, which launches today, highlighting the quality of life benefits of living in West Norfolk.
With the strapline “Ward to Waves in 25 minutes” the national campaign focuses on the fact that the hospital is just a couple of miles away from some of the most beautiful coastline in the country.
The advert will appear in newspapers across London as well as online and is aimed at enticing registered nurses and midwives living in the big smoke to consider the fresh air of Norfolk.
At the same time a separate campaign focusing on the career enhancing opportunities the hospital has will target nurses and midwives closer to home.
Catherine Morgan, director of nursing, said: “The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and West Norfolk have a lot to offer.
“The national campaign focuses on quality of life and the fact we are just minutes away from some of the most beautiful coastline in the country. This combined with relatively affordable house prices and a range of good schools make West Norfolk an attractive opportunity for many.
“Locally we are focusing the opportunities offered by a hospital which is continually seeking to improve and become excellent in all aspects of patient care.”
As part of the recruitment drive an open event is being held at the hospital on October 21. The trust is inviting registered nurses and midwives who are in work but looking for a change, those looking to return to work and anyone registered overseas but looking to start a career in the UK to attend.
Valerie Newton, deputy director of Nursing, said: “Whether you are a registered nurse who wants to work in acute setting, in either a bank or permanent role or, if you are a nurse whose registration has lapsed and may wish to undertake a return to nursing programme, we have opportunities for you.
“The trust is a great place to work where staff are determined to deliver the best for our patients.”
