Best friends Josh Curtis and Danielle Stokes are taking on 33-mile challenge from Sutton Bridge to Hunstanton for Alcohol Change UK

A pair of best friends will be taking on a challenge together to raise money for a charity close to their hearts.

Best friends Danielle Stokes, 31, from Heacham, and Josh Curtis, 35, from Old Hunstanton, are teaming up for a 33-mile hike from Sutton Bridge to Hunstanton in support of Alcohol Change UK.

On Sunday, September 22, the duo will be hitting the trails together, determined to make every step count.

They believe that by raising awareness and funds through their JustGiving page, they can contribute to creating positive change and support those affected by alcohol misuse.

The couple chose to support Alcohol Change UK because of its invaluable resources for people like Josh who are on a journey of sobriety.

The charity also holds significance for Danielle, as her father passed away after battling alcohol addiction.

Danielle and Josh are both passionate about supporting those affected by addiction and helping families navigate through difficult times.

Alcohol Change UK has had a profound influence on Josh, inspiring him to set up a sobriety Instagram account where he shares his journey, connects with others, and offer support to those navigating sobriety.

Josh said: “Alcohol Change UK is on a mission to end the serious harm caused by alcohol, and we’re passionate about supporting their work.

“We’ve seen first hand the impact of alcohol misuse and believe in the importance of their cause.

“For me, setting physical challenges like this helps keep me motivated and gives me something to focus on.”

On their challenge along the newly opened coastal path from Sutton Bridge to Hunstanton, they will experience the historic ferry crossing to Lynn from West Lynn, and will “enjoy beautiful views of marshland around Sutton Bridge through to Terrington and Clenchwarton”.

Josh has previously completed a marathon walk for Macmillan Cancer Support, so he has an idea of what to expect physically.

Danielle is a new mum and sees this challenge as an opportunity to not only get back on track with her fitness after having her daughter, Florence, but also to make her daughter proud.

This 33-mile journey in one day will undoubtedly be a challenge, but the pair are determined to make a difference.
