The body of a man was recovered from the salt marshes around North Wootton over the weekend.
Police say they are not treating the death of the man, who was in his 50s, as suspicious.
Officers were called out at 1.25am on Saturday morning after the alarm had been raised.
A statement issued by the police says: “Police were called in the early hours on Saturday following reports the body of a man had been discovered in marshland.
“We can confirm the man was part of a wildfowling group. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
The Hunstanton hovercraft crew were initially asked to take part in the operation.
The Humber Coastguard requested the launch at 3am to assist police officers to recover the body.
But the hovercraft crew was stood down while making their way to the scene as their assistance was not required by the police officers.
