Tickled Pink Boutique in Downham Market share how they survived the pandemic and are 'busier than ever' with a range of Italian made, Italian leather and perfect Summer outfit ideas
An independent clothing store in Downham is "busier than ever" after they had to shape-shift their business model to survive the pandemic.
Tickled Pink is a quaint little boutique located in the High Street, and when it first opened in 2018 the store sold mostly pre-loved luxury pieces.
You could pick up a Prada cocktail dress for £40, or a luxe Oasis skirt that had been discontinued.
The store, which feels like a hybrid between a snug lounge and a clothes shop, had designer handbags and bags of personality.
The space is run by Jan Moloney, and her son Adam Moloney along with his fiancé Kirsty Nicholson.
But during lockdown, they struggled to stay afloat, as many small businesses did.
Management had to change it's model, despite their enthusiasm for sustainable practises such as the sale of pre-loved clothes.
Mrs Moloney, who issued a shop local plea after her business took a 60 per cent hit last year, hoped the increase in home working would encourage more people to support shops on their doorsteps.
After the struggle, and appeals for help to the local community, the ladies outfitters found it's feet again and is now a favourite among Downham's shoppers.
Tickled Pink also launched their own website tickledpinkdownham.co.uk something that greatly helped them during the pandemic. Many people turned to online shopping whilst working from home, and Downham was no exception.
Management decided to shift from pre-loved stock, to Italian made women's clothing and accessories - to suit every body type.
Mr Moloney and Ms Nicholson post on their Instagram and Facebook feeds regularly, showcasing the latest stock which includes Italian leather bags, floaty Summer pieces and beautiful nature themed brooches.
Ms Nicholson said: "With all the people working from home during lockdown we'd been busier than ever and now we've got a pretty decent online following.
"We're engaging with our audience and showing them our stock - and of course they love the dog."

One of their stand-out pieces is a lightly jewelled maxi kaftan, that gives off Middle Eastern holiday vibes.
Little leather bags are also proving popular, they add a pop of colour to any outfit. Straps are sold separately, so you can customise the bag with something that suits your outfit and personality.
The straps can be camo print, rainbow print, glittery or plain.
