This Saturday will see a pop-up space become a centre for the box heads, an art project in Lynn.

The Place in New Conduit Street, in the former Ann Summers shop opposite Wilkos, will be the focal point for an arts-led, climate project that is being made by young people called Manifesto.

On Saturday, April 23, in the newly opened hub space started by the town centre BID, the group is encouraging members of the community to become a box head.

The Manifesto team will be at The Place from 11am to 3pm and the message is that everyone is welcome.

It will afford the opportunity for a cake and a drink to find out more about the project and chat with lead artists Klanghaus Neutrinos, try some cool creative technology that will be used in the project and, at 1pm, join a discussion about the climate emergency hearing from a range of speakers and the chance to share views.

The group are encouraging youngsters aged 11 to 25 years old to sign up and be a box head and get a photo taken.

On Friday, May 13, there will be a series of flash mobs on the streets of Lynn before joining Manifesto live which is a mini-festival at the Alive Corn Exchange.

The evening will showcase a series of artworks co-created by young people including live animated projections, interactive art installations, and musical performances.

The project is led by Collusion and Rachel Drury, director said: "This is a great opportunity for young people to get creative and have their say about what is important to them and their future in relation to climate change.

"The show on Friday, May 13, is shaping up to be an amazing event and we want to involve as many people as possible."

The Place is a new initiative that opened this month ran by the town centre BID. It will be open weekdays for people to pop in and use as a hub. There is wi-fi and sofas so make yourself at home. There will always be someone about to offer help.

It is intended for businesses to use as a hub and at weekend as a pop-up shop venue.

Last weekend the Pizza Slice Guy was there offering some of his tasty offerings. It is offered at very advantagous rates, particularly for levy payers.

The Place will be open to at least October with the hope that it may be extended longer if proving successful.
