A special meeting called to discuss controversial proposals for a new road in North Lynn has been dramatically adjourned this morning.
Members of the West Norfolk Council planning committee met at 10am today to review the planned route between Edward Benefer Way and Lynnsport for a second time.
The meeting was called after a procedural error relating to the amount of time given to public speakers at the original meeting last month was revealed.
But members are now going to look at the area itself after a proposal for a site visit made by UKIP leader Paul Foster was carried by seven votes to six.
He had argued that part of the proposed route does not meet minimum highway standards, even though county highways officials have made no objections.
The meeting is due to re-convene at the council offices in Chapel Street, Lynn at 11.45am.
Further updates will follow later.
