Wissey Bridge on B1160 College Road at Wissington, near British Sugar factory, to shut for maintenance work next week
A bridge near a sugar beet factory will be shut while maintenance works are undertaken next week.
Wissey Bridge on the B1160 College Road at Wissington will be closed from Monday to Friday next week.
The closure is to allow maintenance, resurfacing, and lining work to be carried out to the bridge, which is expected to take one week to complete, weather permitting.
A full road closure around-the-clock is required to guarantee work is carried out safely.
The bridge, which spans the River Wissey, is outside British Sugar factory on the B1160 between Wereham and Methwold.
The work has been scheduled to take place once the sugar beet campaign is complete.
The fully signed official diversion route - along roads of the same or higher classification and therefore suitable for large heavy vehicles - will be via B1160 Lynn Road, A10 Main Road, A1122 Bexwell Road, A134 Dereham Road, Lynn Road and back onto the B1160 College Road.
The work, which will cost £6,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council and its contractors Tarmac.
