Brothel discovered in Little Fransham after raid, 75-year-old man has been charged

Police have charged a man today with letting premises for use as a brothel in a small Norfolk village.

William Anthony Royal Mallon, 75, of Main Road, Little Fransham, was charged with two counts of letting properties with the knowledge they were being used as a brothel between August 8 2020 and December 20 2021, contrary to Section 34 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956.

The man was arrested following a warrant carried out at a property in Main Road, Little Fransham in December of last year. He has been bailed to appear at Lynn Magistrates Court on July 14.

Last year two people were arrested in connection with modern slavery offences at three locations in Norfolk after a raid.

Officers executed search warrants at addresses in Little Fransham, Swaffham and Dereham after receiving information that suggested the properties were being used by sex workers.

A man in his 70s and a woman in her 40s were arrested on suspicion of modern slavery and managing prostitution.

Little Fransham is a quiet village with a population of approximately 500 people, and lies between Swaffham and Dereham.
