King’s Lynn 8:56 Foundation, Lynn News’ charity of the year, and Trundley Group climbs Mount Snowdon to raise funds for men’s mental health
The 8:56 Foundation, the West Norfolk-based men’s wellbeing organisation, has teamed up with a local business to reach new heights.
A group of 25 Trundley Group staff and associates, alongside 8:56 Foundation representatives and members of TEAM856, climbed Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) to raise important funds.
By following the Pyg Track, also known as the classic route, participants covered 11km (6.8 miles) over six hours, as they ascended and descended Wales’ highest mountain, with an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level.
Event organisers confirmed that the climb had surpassed its £5,000 target.
The money will go towards future 8:56 Foundation activities and programmes designed to improve mental health in West Norfolk.
Katherine Trundley, finance director, Trundley Group, said: “Working with the wonderful team at the 8:56 Foundation, we have learned it is good to talk and raised awareness of mental health and are trying to remove the stigma within our company.”
Richard Watson, trustee, 8:56 Foundation, who took part in the event, said: “The climb showed the spirit of strength, support and belonging that a group can create.”
