Burnham Deepdale’s Christmas market is expanding by opening for the first time in its seven-year history over three days.
It is also extending its entertainment programme which will include Addison’s Uncle, the 2014 winners of Lynn talent competition Battle of the Bands.
The market of more than 100 stalls at Dalegate Market and also in St Mary’s Church, will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 4, 5 and 6.
Folk band Addison’s Uncle will be performing during Friday evening. Emma Fleming and Jessie’s Ghost will kick off the music at 2pm that day, when the market is open for business from 2pm to 8pm.
On the Saturday and Sunday it will be open from 10am-4pm. During the weekend there will also be music by solo artists, groups and choirs.
Said one of the organisers Jason Borthwick: “Our aim each year is to host a relaxed friendly event, with high quality stalls and great food and drink. We are really pleased with this year’s selection of stalls and are sure visitors will love the mix. Friday opening is something new for us, but the reaction seems positive.”
Charities supported by the event are Wells Community Hospital, the RSPB, Brancaster school and St Mary’s Church. Free car parking is available,
