Chartered certified accountant Kezia Benefer has achieved her career ambition having been appointed partner at Lynn firm Hayhow and Co.
She joined Hayhow and Co, based in King Street, as a trainee accountant when she moved to Lynn ten years ago.
She initially joined an accountancy firm in Suffolk when she was 18 after completing her A Levels. She said: “I knew accountancy was the profession I wanted after getting an insight whilst completing my business studies A Level.
“I started an apprenticeship with a firm in Bury St Edmunds and completed my AAT qualifications. I then met my husband, who came from Lynn, and I moved to the area to be with him ten years ago, and it was at that point that I joined Hayhow & Co as a trainee accountant completing my ACCA qualification.”
Kezia, who has a two-year-old daughter, qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 2008, and was promoted in 2009 to audit manager.
“The manager role allowed me to grow my own client portfolio and build my confidence in dealing with clients, and obtaining new work. My client portfolio has grown substantially over the years and this has been largely contributed to via recommendations.
“Becoming a partner of the firm has been what I have worked towards throughout my career, and what I have always wanted. I am looking forward to the next step in my career and the future experiences that it will bring with it.”
