A Fakenham opticians eyed up an excellent fundraising idea by hosting a charity book sale on World Book Day to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Kind-hearted staff from Scrivens, in Norwich Street, dressed up as fictional characters during the book sale where books were donated by staff and their family and friends.
Branch manager Claire Stringer said: “Alzheimer’s affects a growing number of people in our community and there is a real need for continued research and support.
“Our book sale is a chance for us to raise funds and awareness for a cause we care about.”
Scrivens has nominated the Alzheimer’s Society as its chosen charity for the third successive year and so far have raised more than £28,000.
