Well-known Lynn business woman Jenny Bunting has launched a new venture pursuing her hobby of collecting items of interest.

For more than 12 years she ran the burger van, trading as Jenny’s Snacks on North Lynn Industrial Estate.

Now she has just opened her shop, Forgotten Treasures, in the town’s Church Street.

Although she has sold on the North Lynn van, she is maintaining her business name which she will be using on another smaller burger van she has just bought.

This is due to be open for business in the near future and will be operating from the NCP car park, directly opposite her shop.

She said: “About six years ago, I started pottering around charity shops and car boot sales. It just seemed to be something which I was preoccupied with. I had lots of items in the shed and then the loft, but it was something I just loved doing.

“I reevaluated what I wanted to do and I began looking for a little shop. One day, I drove past, saw the sign saying that it was available to rent, and within three days I had the keys.”

Jenny opened the shop in September and since then has seen a lot of interest. “Someone described it as a treasure trove. I just want people to be able to come along, browse and chill out. I am also pleased to meet other collectors if they want to drop in.”

The shop is full of all kinds goods including furniture, vintage clothing, antiques, collectibles and ornaments.

Her vintage clothing range includes a 50-year-old handmade wedding dress and babies’ clothes of a similar age.

The furniture includes tables and chairs and Lloyd Loom products.

“Everything I stock ranges in price from 99p to £99,” said Jenny.

“I am hoping that once the burger van is trading opposite, it will increase the footfall to this part of the town.

“The van is going to be run by people who used to work for me when I was trading at North Lynn. By having them run the van it will enable me to fulfil my hobby and manage my shop.”

The snack van will sell similar kinds of hot food, such as burgers, hot dogs, chicken wraps as well hot drinks.

Forgotten Treasures is open at 29 Church Street, from 9am to 5.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday and from 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
