An export coordinator for a Lynn-based firm has achieved a nationally recognised award afer completing a series of training courses run by Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.
Paula Howlett, who works for Omex Agrifluids, attended the courses and gained a Foundation Award in International Trade.
The chamber runs ten accredited training courses specifically designed for staff involved in exporting and importing cargo to and from the UK.
They are designed to help both new and experienced exporters to develop the essential knowledge they need to be successful overseas. If someone passes six of these courses they will gain the Foundation Award.
Paula said: “All the courses I have attended have proved to be very informative and provided very useful knowledge relating to my everyday role as export coordinator for Omex Agrifluids.
“On each course the Chamber issued hand-outs to follow, and make notes on, to accompany the presentation by the course trainer. He was very knowledgeable and clearly explained the subjects on the courses in as much detail as necessary and was more than willing to go into even further detail if required.
“He was also able to offer numerous examples and scenarios of situations which can arise whilst exporting, which also helped to explain and clarify why certain procedures are carried out and it also helped to show how to avoid any pitfalls.
“I’m very pleased to have received the Foundation Award and appreciate the support of the Chamber in doing so.”
